Preparing for your Surgery
- You must have a physical examination and lab work by your primary physician within 30 days of your surgery date.
- You may require additional pre-operative testing depending on your medical conditions.
- Contact our office if you do not have a primary physician.
- Do not eat or drink after midnight the night before your surgery.
- If your doctor instructed you to take your medicine the morning of surgery, you may take the medicine(s) with a tiny sip of water.
- If you are diabetic, please check with your primary physician about what dose of your medication you should take the morning of surgery.
- Bring a current list of all your medications (including over the counter medication). Include the dose and frequency.
- Bring a copy of your X-ray/MRI/CT images.
- Bring your insurance card and photo ID for registration.
- Do not shave your legs 24 hours before surgery. This can cause skin irritation.
- After surgery, you will need a friend or family member to drive you home. If you plan to take a taxi, a friend or family member is required to accompany you. The hospital does not provide vouchers for taxi services.
